You will not need a rifle. Just drive around night.

So true! I came within inches of hitting a nice buck last night. I think that was my closest call yet.

I guess if I was good with a rock I could hit one off my deck as they come into my yard...and this is near downtown in Wake Forest (small, but not rural). Actually, we like watching the herd in the yard.....thought it's funny when our Bichon chases them. He just doesn't get they are 15 or 20 times bigger then he is!

Back on topic though....folks at work are always giving away venison (and I gladly accept)...they don't seem to have a problem with finding hunting spots.

The hunting is good for most anything you might be looking for. The hard part is getting permission. Alot of land owners have gotten tired of others tresspassing and what not, tearing up fields and fences, littering, etc..Not that every landowner is this way, but between that and people leasing land for really high prices, It gets tough.

No, being serious! If you go on land clearly marked "No Trespassing" you will be , as they say here, "in a lot of hurt". Take those signs seriously and be careful which unpaved road you drive down in your SUV/PU.

I think the original poster was talking about the hitting the deer with cars, rocks and little white dogs being funny.

My bad My ex "bagged" a 3 pointer with his Chevy SS one year. I regularly have deer run across my side/back yard and I am always amazed that no one has hit them as they leap across the road.
