Where might be a good place to find day laborers? Not a temp agency but somewhere where I can find people to help with manual labor....hauling, digging, unloading, wheel barrow work...

I live in Creedmoor...thanks in advance!

I don't have any experience with it, but there are plenty of people who post on Craigslist in the general labor section under looking for laborers.

Dh's boss said you could find them at Home Depot. I have never seen anyone looking for work there myself tho. His boss lives in N. Raleigh tho so maybe at the Home Depot up there.

I am only passing on this info so I can't vouch for its correctness:

A contractor I know says that day laborers can be found near the intersection of Roxboro and Pettigrew in Durham. Get there early.

Oh, and if you are assertive, you might try the new Walmart jobsite (take Glenn School Road exit off I85). That's pretty close to Creedmoor. Maybe you could talk to some of the guys at lunchtime. Some might be interested in a side job. Probably wouldn't be cool to bother them while working---you might upset a supervisor!
