Try southwest. In May of this year, I flew direct from RDU to ORD. They may/may not have that flight since airlines are cutting down on the flights, but worth a look

I always fly southwest to Orlando. They had a bunch of flights and at least one each way used to be non stop.

You can only buy their tickets by buying direct from their website.

I second the Southwest recommendation. Go directly to their website to book. They have a very flexible schedule with several flights to choose from - great prices, too. Just last Tuesday, I flew non-stop round trip from RDU to MCO.

Use the below link and it shows all the direct flights and airlines from RDU.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (http://www.rdu.com/airlineflightinfo/destinations.htm - broken link)

Southwest announced about 10 days ago that they were cutting direct flights to Orlando in late winter, and then kept them available.

They said they will honor what is on their website, but you should pay close attention to flight dates.

They can't do that!

Disney World?!

Aunt Susie?!

Does anyone know if they are cutting them completely out or just cutting them back?

If you want a direct flight to FL from NC, you can take Allegiant air. Only thing is that you need to leave out of Greensboro and fly into Sanford, FL. Sanford is about 40 minutes from Disney. We took this flight and it wasn't bad at all. They have $29 and $39 flights. Although, you have taxes and baggage fee. It still isn't bad though.

Cutting back is what I heard -- from 4 to 3 flights daily I think. I fly to Orlando 4-5 times a year to visit family and solely fly SWA. Cheaper tickets, fast connections.

It's far better to fly into MCO (Orlando Int'l.) and Orlando-Sanford if you can help it. Hey, not that I don't like the Sanford airport (my grandfather was on the board a couple decades ago before they expanded from general aviation to commercial flights), but Sanford is either a PITA trip down 17-92 to O-town, or an expensive ride on the eastern beltway to the attractions. OIA's the better way to go if you can get a direct flight.
