How did most people moving from another state obtain your mortgage?...I have better than xlnt credit willing to put down 20%...but as yet have no employment in NC....I currently have full time employment in another state...Would a letter from my employer stating that I could preform my duties from a home office suffice?...or is the only option to do low doc or no doc mortgage (pains me to have to pay more points with my xlnt credit)..would a second home mortgage carry the same costs?...thanks
Yes, we have done mortgages from out of state. It works the same, even though it's obvious that when you buy the house and move, your employment will change!
You will need to provide bank statements, pay stubs, W-2's and all the same documentation as an in-state purchase.
People do it all the time! Your realtor should be able to recommend a local mortgage broker near the home you are purchasing.
PM me if you want more info. We've done home purchasing from a distance 3 times.
