Hello all!

Two questions here.

What would you say the average pay is for a non college degree clerical type of job would pay per hour? On average that is? Jobs like Mail Clerks, Mailrooms, Secretary's and so on?

Also would one be judged by not having a college degree? We have heard from many that the majority of the younger couples in Raleigh Metro are white collar workers with college degrees and we heard its hard for those without degrees to fit in.

Please respond.

Thank you

I was looking on Monster.com and Careerbuilder.com for things like that and I saw some that had salaries listed. I would say 30K seemed like a rough average. I dunno for sure though... I think salary.com or some site like that can help better.

They only want college degreed workers for the college degreed jobs which have college degree pay! There are plenty of clerical jobs in the area. Of course it is where you work depending on how much you're paid. It usually varies from about 7 to 12 bucks an hour though depending on experience.

Before I took a job with US Postal, I searched for a job related to clerical, mostly medical field. To my knowledge, the average hourly rage is between $13 to $15 per hour. It took me almost a year to find a medical clerical job until I decided to accept an offer with US Postal as a mail carrier because it pay more and I need job fast. It wasn't easy to find any clerical job because there are too many competitions. I hope you'll find one sooner. Good luck.

I was just wondering if you could give me some info on procedure to get a Postal Position. My husband will be retiring Military and thinking about applying with P.O. in Wake County (once where there full time). Anyways, he knows he has to take postal exam. Just wondering.. how long did you have to wait for a call back? Are you a postal carrier? Did you score really well on the test? any other info would be great!
Thanks

I too am having a difficult time finding a job; albeit via emailing my cover letter and resumes to potential employers. I have 20 years in Customer Service experience. Planning our move to the area by April and it's looking like finding a job is going to be very difficult which is something I've never faced before. I'm getting a bit anxious
I send at least 3-5 resumes each day and not one response. Hmm......
