and everyone I've tried is booked up. We are in Clayton. I've left a message for Adorybulls in Clayton but haven't heard back from them yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for Garner or Raleigh kennels or even a small mom and pop operation in business? My dog is a Australian Shepherd mix about 50 pounds (very sweet and friendly).

Thanks for any help!

P.S. The kennels I've called so far that are booked are:

Clayton Animal Hospital
Bone Voyage Kennel - Clayton
Waiting on call from Adorybulls - Clayton

Have you thought about having a pet sitter come in once or twice a day and then your doggie can stay at home?

I have a friend I can refer you to if you like! She just lost her job and I'm sure she would be so happy to be able to have something to do and a little doggie to take care of. (Yes, she has a pet-sitter business, I'm not just referring you to a newbie, lol)

Good question. She's in Raleigh but I'm not sure where. I'll PM you with her information, you can give her a call, and she can give you an idea of what she would need to make the drive if it is a haul.

She always watches our kitty for us.

Be careful with some of these services. A neighbor said they used one last season and some valuable items turned up missing in their home. They higher out the serivce to minimal wage employees. I'm not implying they are all bad, but think about it. Someone if coming into your home, alone when you're not there. Be careful.

FetchPet does background, criminal, and reference checks on all their sitters, plus they are bonded/insured. Your pet can stay with a sitter in their home or if you want, a sitter will come to your home either once or more times a day or even stay over in your home overnight, if you prefer. Full range of services.

That is very true. That's why I was thinking she should call my friend, who doesn't hire anyone out, and is an honest and very reliable person.
