I've got a craving for banh mi (vietnamese sandwich) lately ... can anyone suggest a place in the Morrisville/Cary area?

Thanks, I've been to 9n9 when I feel up to the drive, but keep hoping there will be someplace closer!

So, the last few times I've gone to 9n9, I was told "no sandwiches" I guess they've taken the banh mi off the menu. Do you guys know any restaurants in the area that have banh mi or make a good pho dac biet?

I'm interested in finding this out as well if anyone knows. I'm not all that thrilled about driving over to Capital Blvd. to get a fix.

I thought Dalat on Western Boulevard (Mission Valley shopping center) had them.

could you describe this sandwich. I spent 2 months in Vietnam and never did see anybody eating anything which I would define as a sandwich. Many thanks.

Just this man's opinion,. but I thought the banh mi at Pho9n9 was not very good. The fillings were OK, but the bread was off.

The key to the sandwich is the bread; a French style baguette made with some rice flour for lightness. Still crusty and chewy, but light. Fillings are some sort of roasted/grilled meat, sometimes a pate or a terrine, a dressing, a slaw of pickled daikon, carrots and possibly jalapenos, and cilantro.

I'm looking for a good one too, haven't found it yet.

Buku has it on their lunch menu--it's yum. But it's in Raleigh as well.

Can't help you with Cary, but Spize Cafe in downtown Raleigh serves a banh mi style sandwich that is awesome. Look for the pork "baguette." I was less enthused with Buku's version.
