No. White = not keeping up with the musical trends that were then taking hold in other parts of the country.

Wow, that's the second time today I've learned another new slang term on C-D--certainly never heard "white" in this context.

101.1 WZTE, I love talk radio. Wish they would play some talk on the weekends too.

I prefer the local shows to the syndicated.

I think they are pretty much all awful. 96.1 was OK until they changed to "everything that rocks" and every other song is skynard or ACDC (like nails on a chalkboard to me). I listen to 91.5 and 88.1, but with 88.1 you are at the mercy of the NCSU baseball/womens basketball schedule and the whims of the student DJs.

In the Triangle? Yes it is what passes for good radio.

Still are compared to other cities I visit on a regular basis.

I don't forget b/c every time I leave this state and go out west or down to FL and I hear what they're doing and then I come back here and leave it on Slob and the Ho Down and I understand why its bad radio.

Mostly I listen to 89.7 the Classical Station.

I just don't like the commercials on the other stations.

Thank goodness for the iPod and sat radio. And now the iPhone which will let me listen to Pandora stations over 3G while I drive around town. The only time I ever bother with local radio is for live sports (usually away games) or post-game when I'm sitting in traffic near the RBC/C-F. The one music station that is bearable is 88.1.

Wish we had a good Modern Rock format station that played stuff like White Stripes, Killers, Spoon, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, etc. (at least I assume there is nothing like this still, I long ago gave up hope).

We mostly listen to Sirius/XM, as the local stations seem to play the same songs over and over again.
