I'm currently located in Charlotte. Have been here for a year and 1 month and out of work since January. I had preferred not to relocate again but I'm thinking Raleigh may have much more where my background is concerned. I have a DoD Top Secret Clearance. Anyone have links to a directory listing of I.T. companies or a really good specialized job site for the area. Where can I find this information? What I.T. companies are in that area, especially those that have military contracts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm at that point and I need a J O B! Thanks!
I'm not sure about the number of military contractors here in Raleigh. I know that there is a company east of Raleigh called Kidde Aerospace that may do some government work. Have you considered Huntsville Alabama? I hear that area has lots of companies in that line of work.

I'd suggest Harris Stratex in RTP. Harris Corporation owns a majority stake in the company, it's communications technology and about 50% of their business is gov't contracts. DoD is one of their major customers. Best of luck!
Offshoring is one of the reasons It's been difficult for me to find something...
Oh..the irony - we fight a war on terror when the real terror is the massive loss of jobs to offshoring.... WHO cares about terrorism when you have to worry about keeping a roof over your head & feeding your kids....
That's capitalism for ya. They're beating us at our own game.
I was laid off from my job in 2004 due to outsourcing. It took me 6 months to find a new job (ironically, with the same company that laid me off, but in a different business group) and 3 years to get back up to my former salary. I now have a much different outlook on my job and career. It's all about me now.
Yes it is! AND we MUST simply adjust because like it or not that change was due to come. I either need to find a different career path or figure out a way to go out completely on my own. It's now or never I just don't know where to start...
