So last weeks "snow" event never came to be. I have a feeling we will see at least a few inches before the end of winter. Just a hunch based on all the precipitation we have been getting in recent months. What do you think? Will we be dusting off the old snow shovels this year?
Here's one little guy who would prefer it doesn't snow!
Speak for yourself. We had almost 3 inches on the ground between Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, and 20 miles northwest of us in Yanceyville they had 12 inches.
Its an El Nino year, which means a cold and wet winter in the southeast. We'll probably have a half dozen shots at snow this year. There will be tons of snow in the mountains, how much we get will just depend on how far east the snow line migrates. Winston will get several, Greensboro one or two less...I'll go out on a limb and say the triangle will get at least two snows of at least 4" in the next two months.
Yep, we got at least a couple inches here and so did my parents in Durham I would think we would get at least a couple more snows. I'm not even going to guess how much.
We'll either get a ton or none at all. Roxboro seems to get all of the snow. I can handle anything except ice storms. Those are the worst...trees down and no power. Thank the heavens for gas heat!

Good point, this speaks to just how big "The Triangle" is in that one area can get several inches of snow while the other gets none at all. I do think Raleigh will at least see a couple of inches this year, on a Monday, the day I have a big meeting that I spent all night preparing a presentation for.
I'll say less than 2" total as measured at my house in Cary.
