They are alright. I guess it just depends on the group you hang out with. Cops are around a lot and pretty much squashed the big Brent Road get together.

The were pretty good in my day. I was there in the early Brent Road days, and while that was a huge party that brought people from all over, it was far from the best party I went to while there. Tailgating has gotten even bigger over the years and is an essential party part of the NC State experience, of course.

I am one of the official founding members of the Brent Road Party. The infamous yearly event happened completely by accident...
In the fall of 1989, my three roommates and I moved into the gray duplex-504 Brent Road at the bottom of the street. Starting in the morning, we moved the entire contents of our previous apt including three bedrooms worth of furniture and two full size sofas for serious entertaining. One of my roommates met his future wife that morning as the girls across the street came over with cherry coolade for us. By 8pm that evening, every dish was put away, every bed was made, and every stones, who, and dead poster carefully mounted to every available wallspace. Everything had to be perfect for our housewarming party that night. It was a gamenight, and we had probably 150 people at our house. Three or four other houses up the street had their own individual get-togethers also that night with 100-200 people who had to park further and further away. This river of people walking up Brent Road formed right in front of us, and the famous street party was born.
