Wow - sounds worse than bread and milk! Even back in New England, people scrambled en masse to stores to stock up on bread/milk and snow shovels. Wonder if we'll even get much...I never believe the forecasts. Maybe this time I'll be proven wrong!

BTW, did you try Ace Hardware for the shovel?

Get a plastic scoop shovel at HD, Ace or Lowe's in the garden tool area that has a flat front scoop, a wood handle with a t-grip. This is a perfect shovel for moving mulch, sand etc. but also the best in the biz for snow. It is lightweight, durable, and works the very best on stairs & tight spaces.

"Snow" shovels are cheap garbage and will prove to be a waste of your money. If you waited too long to get one this time, grab one when you can and it will last you forever.

Generally speaking they are made by Ames and have a dark green scoop. Good luck!

The hardware store at Westover on Hillsborough St had some yesterday. Harris Teeter at the Cary Mall had a few out yesterday as well, but I doubt they're still around. They only had about 5 of them.

Grocery stores this morning were not bad. I was at HT, FL and Kroger in Wakefield and no one was there. Everything in stock.

There were plenty of snow shovels this morning at the Ace Hardware in North Ridge Shopping Center (corner of Falls of Neuse and Spring Forest).

1) Take a deep breath. It's going to be OK.

2) Regular shovels aren't scared of snow either. You're allowed to use them to shovel snow as well.

Silly me. I've lived here for over 35 years and never owned a snow shovel!

Ok. So it snows. We can't go anywhere. Nothing is open. Why do you need to shovel the snow???

As the sun comes out and the tempertures rise, stores will open and THE SNOW WILL MELT.

Calm down folks. I promise. It will be OK!

Vicki
