I worked for a company on an assignment that included trips to Pennsylvania a couple of times to visit a huge call center. I developed a "knowledge database" for them. The call center had thousands of employees, all under one roof, working for dozens of major corporations. My client was one of those corporations.
Oh. My. Goodness. Because of that trip, I have the greatest respect for customer service employees. It reminded me of a sweat shop: very noisy, very crowded, little freedom, very uncomfortable, and lots of rules.
I was so glad to leave. I was so glad just to walk out into the parking lot. I don't know if ACS is like that. I hope not.
