Okay everyone, we made it back safe and sound to Omaha. I was asked by a few to post some pictures of our trip. SO......here they are!!

Entering the best state!!

Coming Into Rapid City

Coming Into Rapid 2

Keystone!

Only one more mile!!

There it is!!

Buying our ticket in...

My wife and kids enjoying Mount Rushmore!

My son and I!

Heading back to town!

Getting close to the house we lived in for 6 weeks last summer!

Our old house!

We used to walk around here all the time!

Canyon Lake

So nice and clean here!

Back on I-90 heading West!

Almost to Sturgis!

Just like in Hollywood!! Look close, you can see "Sturgis!"

Made it!

Which way to go...hmm...

Cool TV show on TrueTV!!

Me happy to see it in person!

Heading to Deadwood!

Made it!!

Cool town!

Deadwood

Deadwood

Deadwood...no evidence of the hail storm yet!

We went to Lead to say hi to a friend, but I forgot to take a photo of the sign! Oh well, here is the same sign coming back to Deadwood.

Back in Rapid at Reptile Gardens....What a big tortuous!!

It's huge!!!

They say he is 121 years old!

A very rare find!

It's amazing! You can actually be outside at night here! In Omaha the humidity makes it so miserable you don't want to be outside. In addition to that, my son is allergic to mosquitoes. We were outside playing at night with NO bugs and NO sweat! AWESOME!!

My wife having fun!

My son loving being outside and playing!

2nd to last stop on the list....Terry Summit Peak...the lookout point!

Almost to the top!

Beautiful view!

Beautiful view!

Beautiful View!

We love it here!

My wife is so excited to be up here...look!! lol

My favorite town. If I could make it happen, this is where I would live!

My old work place when I lived here last summer for six weeks!

My wife and I have never seen a "green" Wal-Mart!

Heading back home....coming into Rapid from Spearfish

Leaving.... :-( It was so sad!

Wall!

I love this place!

Well, that is about it! That was out brief little trip to the Hills for a couple days. We can't wait to get back again someday. Hopefully sooner than later!

Thanks for looking!!

Brian

Hey! Thanks for the tour. I just got home from Spearfish myself but didn't get to see any of the country.
My 110 lb. best friend decided to take the ferry from Alaska to Bellingham, WA with a couple buddies and ride cross country to Sturgis. After a couple days of not hearing from her I got a call early last Wed. morning from the Spearfish hosp. where she'd been incapacitated since early Monday. She made it within 17 miles of Sturgis, was in an accident, wrecked her beautiful 2005 bright red Fat Boy Harley and broke herself up but good. Thank God the one and only southbound jet outta here hadn't left yet, three days of sleepless travel later I made it to Spearfish to rescue her. Three more days, 4 flights & a total of $4,600 worth of pure hell trying to get my busted up wheelchair/bound friend home but we made it.
Besides worrying and feeling horrible about her injuries (35 staples in scalp, crushed foot and NO skin on elbows, knees, thighs, well just about all over), to say nothing of her beautiful busted up bike, I was hearbroken for her to get so close and miss it all. 'course I don't see the draw and I gotta tell you, I've never been so greatful to live in this paradise called Alaska. The best part is, she's ALIVE and will heal.
It's completely insane down there, But I'm glad you guys had fun!

Default Great Pics

Hey BrianGuy - what great pics!!! I can almost smell that good clean air from here. It is very interesting to me how clean everything is. I am so used to our "haze" (whatever) that occurs where I currently live each and every summer and having visited Rapid during the fall (when I thought things would be clear and crisp...and it was)...it is so nice to see that the pristine look (IMHO) is apparent in any season.

We didn't make it to Deadwood, so it was great to see those pics as well.

Hubby and I completely agree regarding the Spearfish area...we have a cabin picked out already...now we just need the owners to put up a "For Sale" sign.

Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Amazing photos. A Wal-Mart in Rapid City? Now I've seen everything! The natural scenery's not bad either.
