She might have high anxiety or OCD. She might have a kid with cancer at home and doesn't want to bring home viruses. I don't know. There are many personal reasons she may not want to do shake hands that have nothing to do with you.
I don't think it is an issue and wouldn't be so offended that I needed to retort in a snobby tone. I wasn't there, but maybe she needs to work on her presentation. Maybe she said it matter of factly and you overreacted, who knows.
This. My ex-husband had an odd variety of OCD that made him worried about germs in other places, but not at home. He wouldn't shake hands with strangers or touch many outside surfaces. Good grief, that got old. After I took him to a psychiatrist, he improved a great deal, however. Too bad our relationship didn't
Well, it's a little odd, for sure -- but by the same token, why cop an attitude over it? Would you have been less offended if she had whipped out latex gloves and put them on before she shook hands? Seems like a minor thing to get torqued over, especially if she seemed like a competent agent in other ways.
Great video! I find it a bit strange too, but still no reason to be rude to someone.
Coincidently this whole hand shake tradition was a topic of a talk show on TV a couple weeks ago, one host is a germ-a-phobe, doesn't shake hands and thinks the practice should be eliminated! So there are people out there that are paranoid about germs, anyone with compromised white cells have good reason, some are just paranoid, no reason to disrespect them.
All I can say is that there will be a lot less handshaking once some of these viruses turn into pandemics. Just sayin'. Besides, this has nothing to do with whether someone is a real estate agent. Just ask Howie Mandell or Donald Trump.
