As an agent I can tell you how many do NOT use the email system or will not respond via email to even another agent, (these are not p/t agents) I check mine constantly and use it to network and talk to clients every single day!!!
Give her a chance to change it, if she dosnt you need to move on, end of story
Given the circumstances of this situation, I think the OP needs to find a more responsive agent. This agent knows the urgency and is not following through.
Easy enough to call her managing broker and ask to be reassigned or if you are dealing with a relo company, ask them to assign you a new agent.
We are moving to another state in about 10 days and the realtor we have chosen to work with there does not respond to my emails in a timely manner and often not at all. I have tried to set up appointments with her to see available properties as soon as we arrive.
I've emailed her telling her that we are very anxious to get an escrow started, we are paying cash and then I gave her the date (July 28) that we will be available to start looking. I've told her we are willing to look all day, every day depending on her schedule. I've sent her various links to houses we would like to see - no response for 4 days.
Yesterday she called me on my cell phone while I was away from the house to ask me which dates I was available (I already emailed her that information days before). I asked if she had received my emails and she said yes....she said she would send me "a lot of homes" to look at via the internet. a day and a half later - nothing. She still hasn't let us know whether she is available the week of July 28.
Am I being unreasonable in my frustration with this agent's lack of response? I know that we have a couple of weeks before we will be able to physically look for a house, but I want to schedule time with our agent before she fills her calender (she is a busy agent).
We just sold our home and our selling agent communicated often via email. When I have appointments, dates, times, etc., I really appreciate an email so that I can save it and refer to it to make sure I have all the information correct.
What do you think of this situation?
If you do not have a buyer's agency agreement, I would consider working with a different agent. Communication is so vital during this process you are doing yourself an injustice if you continue to work with an agent that does not meet your communication expectations.
Personally, I detest talking on the telephone and would much rather use email exclusively for my contacts. Everybody is different. You just need to find a good match. If you have a buyer's agency established, you might consider talking with the agent's broker about the problem. I assure you that the broker wants their cut of the commission and will "encourage" the agent to be more responsive to your needs.
ditto, get another agent, no excusses, 4 days, we have let agents go, for not checking emails daily, and every client has our cell numbers, and easy access to reach us. I answer my cell almost 24 -7, and sorry you are dealing with someone who is not with the times. Good luck, and once you find a good one, your experience will be better.
