The only way to know what they would accept is to have your agent call them, tell them that you are walking if you do not get the house at the lower advertised price. You have no funds at risk. They more than likely would not sue you since they have suffered no damages. Your position is not as weak as you think. Have your agent handle it immediately or have their broker do it.
And just on a side note... the statement above that an agent "never" advises someone to put in full price is erroneous. It happens all the time and for good reason.
