You have to be 18, and pass your state's requirement for pre-license school then pass both the state test and the federal test (one test two parts) for a license to sell real estate then in order to hang your license you have to shoose a brokerage firm.
If you are considering a career in Real Estate and are at least 18 years of age, I would recommend going and interviewing with several local brokerages around you. Ask friends and family who they have worked with and have a good reputation. When you are there, remember you are interviewing the broker as much as he/she is interviewing you. They want to know you have the entreprenurial spirit and the funds to survive.... you want to know what they offer in support and training. Some will even reimburse you for your school after you start producing (at least in my area they will), but you have to have an agreement with them before you go to school.
Also, they will recommend who they think the best Real Estate schools are in your area. Some will also offer extra tutoring during the class period and just after to help you pass the test.
Good Luck!! and let us know how it works out for you.
