I just bought some land in Big Bear. There are no buildings on the property just land and some wood fences that separate my land from the neighbors. Do I need fire insurance?
One gets insurance to repair or replace existing structures and/or for liability protection. Specific fire insurance - what would you want repaired or replaced due to fire damage? shrubbery, trees? or the fences?
However, there may be some reason to have insurance to protect your liability for fires started on your property travelling to another's property. I don't know anything about Big Bear - not even where it is.

Ask your home insurance agent to add the vacant land to your existing policy. I'm unaware of any insurance company that would write a policy for that purpose. I didn't click on any of the above links.

Yes, vacant land is often considered an "attractive nuisance" and you can be held liable if a bunch of kids play there and one or more gets hurt.
