The house may not be overpriced. There are plenty of reasons houses don't sell.....ugly flooring, too many colors and needs repainting, hideous wallpaper, old nasty smelly carpeting, tiny bedrooms, 1980's fugly kitchens, etc.
You have 2 options. Offer more for the house or find another one. You are far too emotionally attached. This is a business transaction not a prom date. You need to get your emotions out of this. At this point, I'd move on with my life and find a house I can afford.
