On Saturday my husband I sat down and decided after being on the market for 2 months that we would drop our price a little to see if we get any lookers since thus so far we have had not one. We called our realtor and also emailed him on saturday to discuss the matter. It is thursday and we still have yet to hear back from him. I called him on his cell phone since this is the preferred way that he wants us to contact him and I have been calling everyday since tuesday. Im starting to get a little frustrated and worried is this how our agent should be handling business with us? We chose him because we thought he could handle the job for us, but now we are beginning to wonder if we made the right choice.
I have to agree that's very bad service, unless there's some extenuatiing circumstances that have prevented your agent from returning your email and calls. Probably the best thing to do would be to call his office. Maybe there is someone covering for him if he's out of town. If not, then ask to speak to his broker and explain the situation. Unless there's some sort of reasonable explanation why he has not responded to you, then you have every reason to be upset.
There should be no reason that your agent should not be getting back with you very quickly. Let alone days later. Even if he did go out of town, he should have notified you beforehand and let you know who would be covering for him. There could be a good reason for him not being able to call back, but yes you should definitely call his office and ask to speak with the broker. Just let the broker know that you have been trying to reach your agent and you have not been able to get a hold of him. The broker should be able to assist you.
I have been a realtor for 25 years. This is unprofessional conduct. Speak with the managing broker of his office. You have every right to change agents if you so desire.
A friend fired 3 agents within a month's period. The first agent never got back to her on a house in which she was interested so she lost the house to another buyer on which she was prepared to make an offer.
The other agent had children and was not always available when my daughter found a house she wanted to see, and the last agent attempted to pressure her into moving into the agent's area and would not perservere in helping her find a house saying, "I need to make money."
Thank you all so much. My husband is going to be calling his broker. I just wish that if something happened we would be informed. I am aware that things happen but this is just right out ridiculous.

Thanks again
Calling the broker is the right thing to do. The agent should be answering his cell phone unless he's with a client, and he should return your call within a couple of hours if he is busy.
No excuses, everyones advise is right on, sorry for you not hearing from you realtor. Thats one of the things that make us all look bad, and once you talk to the broker, he should handle it, and if not you need to find a company that is worthy and wants and appreciates your buisness.
I agree he should return your call. If you can`t get him chances are neither can the buyers.
