I am currently looking into quad condominiums in North Carolina and Virginia. EPCON keeps showing up in several cities in both states. Since they build in many states, I thought I should ask in a national forum.
I am concerned whether there is sufficient sound-proofing where one master bedroom or bath shares an adjacent wall with the condo next door. I would hate to hear late night noises from my neighbors.
I would love to hear comment from anyone who has been in EPCON homes or investigated them.
We have condo quads in Apex, Cary and Raleigh where the garages and kitchens are the common walls, and you get absolutely no noise between living areas of adjacent units.
It is a good design for a quad. I believe they are Epcon plans.
If you are looking at other designs, you should walk through prior to insulation and sheetrock, to see how the builder addresses soundproofing.
I think Epcon is licensing that design among various builders in Epcon Communities, as well as building their own. You should confirm the specific builder and check out any builder's track record and costumer satisfaction.

Thank you. I later realized that Epcon has many different builders using their designs. I would make sense to have common walls at the garages and kitchens.
