Trouble is he's been trying to get his point across for some time now:

Testifying before the Senate Finance Committee on April 9 Brian Montgomery said, “We must not federalize the housing market. And we must not harm our economy through solutions that, however well-intentioned, further erode the foundation of the nation’s housing market, hurt homeowners who are meeting their mortgage obligations, or prolong the correction.”

But apparently the powers that be are not listening as the political posturing continues.

As far as I can tell both Bush and the US Congress are all for having the FHA try to fill the void left by the disappearance of all the sub prime players and they seem to care very little about what Montgomery & Glavin think.

I was always told the FHA w/DPA had 2x the default rate as regular FHA loans. HUD should cut off the "non-profit" groups "providing" this DPA.

If the F.H.A. loses 4.6 Billion dollars, the liberals will demand to raise the taxes on conservatives to pay for it...
