Ok, I need to give credit to our friend Rakin for this idea...How about a top 10list of what gets us all through this buying/selling process?!
For me:
Hubby, sons & future daughter in law
My sister
My parents and brother
Friends
My dogs
Wine (preferably a nice rieseling or demi-red)
City Data forum
My laptop computer
A good book
and last but not least, a sense of humor, even though it is a sick one at times, lol.

Not always in the same order, of course. Anyone else care to share??
Barb

Here's my list, in no particular order

1. Keeping my eye on the goal (moving to back to California)
2. My husband
3. So You Think You Can Dance, I'm crazy about this show and look forward to it every week
4. Shopping via the web for a new house in San Diego, even though I know I can't buy until we sell, and who knows how long that will take. I enjoy keeping an eye on our target market and imagining myself in one of the houses I find.
5. Friends
6. Belly Dance, I've been dancing for years and find it an excellent way to keep myself busy and fit.
7. Diet Cherry Pepsi, I try to avoid soda most of the time, but these days its one glass with dinner every night and health be damned! It's good to treat yourself.
8. Solitaire on my computer
9. My family
10. Chocolate

the thought that I will no longer (when we sell) have to live in a show home
My Hubby
Friends in UK who cannot believe we haven't sold YET
Plain chocolate
My dogs
Looking forward to having a smaller home - much to Hubby's disgust
That I will find an honest reliable agent - or end up doing this thing myself which as everyone tells me I could do with my eyes shut - thats IF I had a Texas license.
Keeping up with what is going on with you lot here on CD

Default How to survive the housing market

1. The longer we stay in our home, the more equity we build.

2. Nothing lasts forever, we will find a buyer someday.

3. We are grateful for having a roof over our head, and food on the table.

4. Things will get done in "God's time", not our time. (What the heck is SHE waiting for anyway?)

5. My kids are living with us, I can enjoy them now, cause they might not be coming with us when we move.

6. Fall will be here soon. It is beautiful here in the fall.

7. My dogs are happy here, and there are beautiful places to take them for walks.

8. Chocolate, booze, friends, good shopping here, good restaurants here (we are moving to a rural area, so there is less of everything)

9. Some good neighbors who are trustworthy and kind.

10. All of you on CD who are going through the same thing....

10 Top things that get me through the day..........

1. Knowing I don't have to sell, its not a sell or bust kinda thing.............

2. The calls from my girls asking me if the last "looker" was my buyer..

3. Looking online for homes I'd like

4. City Data and all the information that helps, and sooths

5. Knowing I'm staged and thats all I can do......its out of my hands now.

6. In Gods Time...........until then I love swimming in the pool, and sitting in our
totally secluded back yard.

7. Swimming and dreaming...........

8 . Knowing I live nice and close to the little fellows in the family right now, and
loving our times together ( I don't plan to move too far from that either)

9. Just having a " be it as it may" attitude........" what will be will be"

10. Dreaming of some more time at the ocean

Great post tambre,

My wife would probably add therapeutic shopping, even though we are downsizing she keeps bringing stuff home for the house.

Oh agreed, shopping is very therapeutic A smaller house needs different stuff, new decor, new style, different windows, different furniture, who doesn't like new kitchen towels? maybe even some new clothes for a new locale due to different climate.
