Oh so many questions, lol....here is my update for the day. Had someone drive out for a "preliminary" showing, a new term, anyway the guy calls my agent says he loves just loves the yard and house BUT he has to put his on the market next week and would I do owner financing. HAHA...that would be a no! Then a friends cousin is wanting to see it now and is suppose to call her agent tomorrow to keep things official, but we all know all about the suppose to's and other promises. Then again at least I have some interest appearing out of no where...right? Anyway, I am calling it a night here shortly....was just checkin' in...

Haha, Cma, thought you said you were working on lingerie projects! i guess we have the cattle ranch thing going on in the area, not much else. more of a tourism area.
Tambre, we have 2 big ski areas both about an hour away. we're gonna go skiing in a couple of weeks. havent been spring skiing in a long time.
went snowwhoeing today. loved it! only did 2-3 miles, but to the top of a hill. we are so lucky because we have everything we've dreamed, including the national forest across the road. anyway, right before we left i took riley down the road and saw strange tracks. i thought they were the neighbor's cat but once we left for snowshoeing and walked to the end of the road the tracks kept going. Fox maybe? also saw coyote tracks and maybe rabbit. oh and probably elk tracks. too big to be deer, but we're not sure. DH is good at that stuff but not so good with the elk or mule deer since that's new to him.
Another beautiful day set for tomorrow. maybe more snowshoeing if im not sore tomorrow. and maybe hot springs this weekend. planning on going snowshoeing at the national park monday or tuesday. (mesa verde np) we are really enjoying our temporary retirement! like i said, i praise the Gods how lucky i am every day.

Yikes, why was a puppy left outside in winter? I must be missing lots of the story here.

Painter, can you describe your historical home?

Speaking of puppies, our almost 17-year-old Yorkie (no, not the ratter :-) is definitely showing his age and its hard to know what to do. He has been deaf and almost blind for a couple of years. He spends a lot of time being restless and whining. It seems to be his usual whining that he does when he's looking for me, and since his eyesight is almost zero, he has a hard time finding me, even when I'm a few feet away! I will touch him to let him know I'm there, he sighs like "Oh, there you are", I put him in his bed right next to me where I'm working at my desk, and he immediately gets up and starts whining, looking for me. Repeat this scenario about 20 times an hour until he finally konks out in his bed. It is so hard to know whether its just confusion/dementia, or if he's in pain. Its very exasperating. I don't think his quality of life is so great because he doesn't know what's going on half the time, but he likes to eat, drink, still generally goes potty in the right place, and is breathing.... so its hard to make a "final" decision for him. He has an appointment at the vet next week, maybe she will be able to determine if he has an physical problems making him so restless.

I don't expect I'll be looking at any homes this weekend, nothing came on the market this week. :-( Haven't heard from my agent after he said he'd "do some research" and get back to me. He's just feeding me a line.

I'm hoping to get motivated to try a new craft I now have most of the supplies for - mosaic. I bought a book on how to do it, have some very pretty broken plates, grout. I'm going to start with putting mosaic on a ceramic pot for the garden. A relative did several of these for her garden and they were so pretty. In my new town-to-be I discovered a place that offers stained glass classes, and that is next on my list. :-)

I hope you all are having a good day.

FOG, knowing when it's time to put a beloved pet to sleep is such a hard decision to make and a personal one. My heart goes out to you. As far as the pup that was outside...I live in a rural area, where most folks seem to believe that dogs belong outside. The pup was about 8 weeks old, and left in a pen with food, water and shelter (an old oil drum with straw in it). I was seriously comtemplating puppynapping. I can't believe how the puppy not only survived the subzero temperatures, but actually thrived. The pup is a Great Pyrenese mix. The same neighbor also has a feral stray dachshund who roams around his house, and survived through the bitter cold, as well.

A feral dachshund?! That blows the mind, I could never imagine such a thing. And that short-haired little breed can survive winter outside? Wow. Ah, a Great Pyrenese mix, they are generally built for the cold. Such a beautiful breed.

I guess I'd have a hard time living a rural area where people leave dogs outside. Its even an adjustment moving here, where not as many people consider their dogs "children", whether that's a good or bad thing is an individual opinion. My dogs are very important to me and the joke in my family is that everyone wants to be reincarnated as one of my animals, living the good life! In shopping for a home, I'm even on the lookout for neighbors who don't appear to treat their animals well enough, because that would be soooo stressful to live next to and I probably would end up being a dognapper!

One house I particularly enjoyed viewing had a sweet cat who seemed totally fine with a stranger in the house and escorted me from room to room, "chatting" with me the whole time!

Hello all, Can you believe it is almost MARCH??? Egads!

don't know about all of you but busy busy here. Finished quilt project so can mail out to lil cousin next week.
Hubby is through with physical therap( had kne replacement in Dec.) , back at work full time & last 2 college classes. So cleaning up the downstairs den, to move his recliner back down there. YAY. So he will be set up with man cave central once again.

Stoy, hope you are enjoying snowshoeing...it really sounds like fun, and peaceful to wander in that glow of snow

Tambre, glad to hear lil pup is faring well

FOG, long story short, we are in our 8th house since 93, combination personal to rentals, moving up & relocating. Down to the one now. Found CD back in '08 when hubby was downsized after being here a year...had house on market 6 mths. 'bout time the market bogged down here. Then he went back to same place, diff. job. Decided to Pull off market. But plan to re list and get sold, as we have hopes of returning to the south/southeast, now that his college is almost done
So I know the joys, HA, of selling & buying I do believe

Okay peeps, gotta hit it again, much to do, especially now that we are thinking of putting on the market. Oh lawsy! Not much in our area for sale now, so may be a good thing for us...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend, later!

Carry on!

and a laugh in her voice."

Crazyma, I can't believe how many times you have moved! What states did you live in? What degree is your dh getting? How's DGD and DD doing? I loved the March poem thingy.

Didn't do too much this weekend. Did some brush clearing, and raking. We are trying to clear one pasture of locust trees, which are thorn trees...like something out of Snow White.

Do any of you shop for food at Walmart? We noticed that they put flavoring and other crapola in all of their meat products, including ground beef, cube steaks, chicken, turkey, nothing is safe! They can be up to 14% other stuff. It can even say "all natural" on the front, but in the ingredients, it will mention other ingredients, like natural broth flavorings.

Stoy, have you been going out on interviews yet? How about your dh? Is he job hunting too?
