Ahh...the "lazy agent" strikes again! I've had this happen before. I was the second agent in and the first agent refused to come get her sign. I guess she thought I'd be generous enough to leave her sign in the yard while I had the listing. Wrong answer sister! Lol.

But laziness isn't the only reason you may see this. Believe it or not, it's possible (but highly unlikely) that the homeowner is represented by each company for different services. For example, Acme Acres may have the property listed for rent. And John Doe and Associates may have it listed for sale.

I have to agree that co-listing is the likely answer. If I take a listing and there is still a sign in the yard from the previous listing, I would put the sign in the garage, carport etc and call the agent to tell them where their sign is. More than likely I have already spoken with the previous agent to arrange removing their lockbox,sign etc.
