For years I wanted a pressure cooker but was afraid of them exploding. I finally got brave and bought a very small pressure cooker, but I have no idea of how to cook in it or what to cook in a pressure cooker.
There are instructions of how to use it....but only a couple of recipes .... one for a roast.
What else can I cook in it....can I have times, ingredients. Boy do I feel dumb!
Gee whiz, I had one and used it all the time because it cut the cooking time down on a lot of stuff. I cooked roasts in mine all the time but never used any recipes other that what I normally seasoned them with.. I am of no help with this but let me warn you, DO NOT open it while it is under pressure. I put it under the cold water faucet to cool it down before I opened it. They are great time savers.
How about googling cooking with pressure cookers or pressure cooker recipes, etc. I'm sure you'll get a ton of info!! I have one, but now that I'm single, I've never even bothered to take it out of the package and use it.
I've used, but has been a long time. Now I only have the big one in the box for canning I think the google would be helpful. I know I would do the meat, and can use cheap cuts with the way this cooks. I think I seasoned and browned...added some liquid and cooked. If was adding veggies or saying doing pork roast and kraut, I would cool down...never ever ever try to open hot...cool water, then colder from faucet is what I did also and even a little longer for safety's sake... Then add veggies, kraut, etc.., bring to pressure, cook a little longer, then go through "pressure-down process" again. That is true comfort food. I only remember my mom blowing it up once...thinking she had tomato something in there
yes and there is also electric which is what I got and it is great you can even set it to stay warm when cooking is over( love it & much safer although I have both)
I would love "tried and true" recipes for a pressure cooker also! I know I can "google" but I would rather have recipes that are used over and over!
