Harry and David sell a pepper and onion relish and their recipe for dip has this mixed with cream cheese. I get compliments every time.

Chutney Cheese Ball

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 9 oz jar Major Grey Chutney, divided
1 teas. curry powder
1 teas. dry mustard
1/2 c chopped pecans
1/2-1 c shredded coconut
Bland crackers

Mix cream cheese, 1/2 jar chutney, pecans, mustard and curry. Since mixture is rather soft, place plastic wrap into a small bowl and use to form the cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap tightly and chill til firm.
To serve, place a layer of coconut on serving dish, top with cheese ball and drizzle with remaining chutney.

Note: If I am just having a few people, I divide into two cheese balls.

Years ago a friend gave me a recipe for Clam Dip and every time I serve it every drop is eaten by the guests. In addition to good taste, its virtue is remarkable ease of preparation. Men especially seem to like it. And it's a tad more glam than onion dip yet no harder to make.

1 large package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese softened (I use the low fat now and no one knows the diff)
1 can minced clams (you'll only need some of the juice)
A shot of Worchester sauce, to taste
A generous shot of lemon juice
A tablespoon of grated onions (I use dried minced ones if I'm in a time bind; chopped scallions are OK, too)
Parsley flakes added for appearance more than taste

Mix that all together, using the clam juice to make it the texture you like. Serve with crudité or chips of your choice. I like pita or bagel chips because the flavor doesn't compete with the dip. I always keep a can of clams in the pantry just to make this for unexpected company.

This is something that is always a hit. We don't mix them together, but just dump the relish over a block of cream cheese.

From bottom up in layers

1 8 oz Cream cheese softened and spread on bottom of dish
chopped scallions to cover the Cream cheese
1/2 jar HOT MANGO CHUTNEY (about 3 – 4 oz) over the scallions
1/2 bag shredded coconut to cover the chutney
Peanuts finely chopped to cover the coconut (should be like a course grind from a pepper grinder)

Press each layer down gently and refrigerate. Serve with chips or crackers but let soften at room temp before serving so chips don’t break.

Enjoy!!!!
This sounds almost exactly like my fave cheese ball recipe, except I mix the chopped scallions along with Zante currants into the cheese, smear the chutney around the ball and coat with toasted coconut. I'm going to sprinkle chopped peanuts on next time I make it!

Cowboy Caviar - sounds kind of gross but everyone eats it up! 2 cans Mexicorn, 1 can Rotel (reg or hot), 2 cups shredded cheddar, 6 green onions (sliced), + 1 cup each mayo and sour cream.
