Last couple thanksgivings we've bought practically most of the meal already cooked ready to pick up the same day, we make a couple of sides ourselves, meals have been great ,going to do this every Thanksgiving from now on , also gives us more time to drink while we send the sober one to pick up the food Lol

A whole poached salmon and Lasagne Bolognese. I believe you should eat things you actually feel grateful for on Thanksgiving, and turkey, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie are not on that list.

We talked and decided to go with a roast leg of lamb for them and beef tenderloin for me and my daughter.

We'll probably have steak. I'd pick seafood, but I'll be happy enough with the steak.

Every year I try to bag a few wild pheasants to smoke a day or two before TDay.

Last year we served Thanksgiving Dinner at a community center; it was interesting as it is an ethnic neighborhood and the meal was Turkey but seasoned and served in the style of that community and the sides were plantains and other ethnic dishes. (I didn't care for it very much...altho it seemed popular with the neighbors.) I don't know if we will do it again this year....it was very very tiring standing so long.

I think I want to do a turkey or capon for xmas when I will have family over....so more likely to do roast beef or steaks for our T-day dinner.
