Maybe as men age, they lose interest in relationships, commitments, etc. But not women.

A buddy from my 20s was quite the womanizer. He was the spitting image of a popular actor from that era. When he got into his forties, he told me he had singed off women and told me I was a fool to have any interest.

Then he went on a vacation in SE Asia.....

False. At 47, I have as much interest as I ever did, and my libido is still as high as it ever was. It's what makes it difficult to accept that I probably will be alone the rest of my life.

I think alot of guys in their 40's probably have quite a bit of resentment from divorces, etc
That make them less open to relationships.

I don't really agree with the the premise that men lose interest in women after 40

That's true to some extent, but men tend to forget all that when they come across somebody they really want.

Funny, my Uncle Norm was laways the ladies man and at the age of 74 he could still charm any woman. But, since about the age of 50 he hasn't had a relationship with a woman. I tell him it's a waste of a wonderful man and he could always get Viagra if he wanted to fulfill that part as well. He says he doesn't even remember what that was like anymore, I tell him to get Gingko Biloba to remember what he used to do, then take the Viagra.

This was a man that until his 40s was a stud. He still has plenty of women fawn all over him and he ADORES women.....just doesn't want a relationship with one.

My Uncle Chuck was a huge womanizer all his life. He only wanted to settle down once he hit 40 and on. So I don't know how rare it is...I'm not a 40 year old woman looking for a relationship.
