I was married to a woman whose bipolar manifested years after we were married. It wasn't a great marriage to begin with, and rapidly got worse. In her manic phases she had poor judgment, and may have cheated. Even with meds, she wasn't very stable. All in all, it was a volatile and unpleasant situation, so you have my sympathy as I remember how tough it was.
Hey! I know you! You're my current boyfriend Chuckles, right? I recognized you right away! How? Because he never does anything wrong, either. It's all "The Wife".
Yes, sometimes it IS all "The Wife"!
Men seem to get blamed for everything, whether or not they're at fault.
True, but in most cases it's 50/50....since we don't know her side of the story this is all subjective isn't it?
That's true, and obvious. It does seem however, that the OP posted sincerely about a real problem, so cheap shots at him aren't warranted, IMO. I've also noticed that it seems much less common to second guess women posters. And we almost never get BOTH sides of a story, do we? We only have what the OP posts, whether they are male or female.

Oh i second guess everyone because very rarely do people paint themselves in a bad light.I recently got in trouble with my friend lisa because she is divorcing after catching her husband cheating. Well anyway she is has spent their entire marriage accusing him of cheating....and doesn't ever want to have sex. So i said "well what did you expect?".....of course that didn't go over too well.

However, I do believe that if you had any experience whatsoever (or knowledge) of bipolarity you wouldn't have responded as you did. It's a very serious and very real problem which is very difficult to treat.
I'm wondering what goes through people's minds by marrying women or men who aren't mentally stable? I mean, you knew/had to have known that they would act out at some point in time. I will not marry a woman that's NOT mentally stable, period.

The OP was married to his wife well before she was diagnosed as bipolar, my friend whose story I related was married to his wife for over 40 years before hers suddenly came on and TaoistDude experienced the same thing. This isn't a thread related to marrying someone with a known mental problem.

I have experience with ocd so perhaps you don't know what you are talking about?

OCD isn't bipolarity.
