Well, my BF loves pecan pie. So do I, but I don't "crave" it often, and if I do, I pick up a frozen one at Honeybaked Ham (it is to die for, seriously). I guess that's why I've never tried to make one. We went to his mom's for Thanksgiving, and pecan pie is something she makes every year (he says she must have made 500 of them over the years ) and I had to admit it was at least as good as the Honeybaked one, if not better.

So he went to his dad's at Christmas, and came back with 3 bags of freshly shelled pecans. So here I am with pie #2 in the oven.

Oh man, if you like Honey Baked's pie you should try their cheesecakes. One year I bought their large sampler one and each slice (which I think weighed 10 pounds each) was a different flavor. Rich, rich, rich but boy was it good. You can't go wrong with anything from Honey Baked.

Oh now I do make cheesecakes. And mine are the bomb, if I do say so myself. I can't tell you how many "I don't like cheesecake" folks that I have converted.

Heck, I'll come over for cheesecake and I'll bring my own fork.

I'm not quite sure how to take this though. Several things come to mind:

The Grand Canyon, The Rolling Stones, Hugh Hefner.....

Me too. I can't eat rolled oats anymore (except in cookies ). They are too mushy. We make steel-cut oats with dried cranberries and a little brown sugar, or with dried blueberries and slivered almonds. I like mine with a little milk too.

And your pie looks delectable. I've never made pecan pie.
