Well, if that's the case, then I'll be more than happy, because I wouldn't have to worry about marrying some psycho.
That definitely trumps wishing/hoping both genders were equally insane.
It isn't so much the insanity, it's not understanding what the consequences will be. For example (and I apologise in advance Oildog), meeting your friend's new girlfriend alone just isn't a good idea. No question needs to be asked, it simply isn't a wise decision.
As adults we may not have experienced certain situations but we can imagine what the consequences are, or we have seen someone we know go through that situation.

Well, just replace un-wise decision w/ insanity and you'll get my point.
Every one of your examples, except for possibly the last, has a woman involved in it as well. You want to know what I really think? No? I'll tell you anyway, and this from a happily married man; marriage is the culprit. Raising kids in the 21st century is the culprit. Living in a country that's been sold out from under us is the culprit. Nothing wrong with people, that an adjustment of societal and political factors wouldn't fix, for other than the odd, chronic malcontents amongst us.
It is what they do after they fail that is a true measure of a person.
Nice, I cannot argue with that.
