my ex-fiance and I had some wonderful vacations together but now that I'm not in a relationship why should I give up travel, which is something I love to do
Never done it but I would LOVE to! I think my husband would be insulted but I REALLY, REALLY want to rent a condo for a week at the beach and just relax and enjoy my solitude.
We keep talking about buying a beach or lake house and I'm all for it! "Honey, I have to go do some redecorating at the vacation house...I'll be back in a week"
You REALLY have to find a trusting man that is secure to say that ! Hence I can only be with someone who trusts me ...

Oh if we actually owned a second home he'd have no problem with that. He LOATHES setting up a house.
He'd be insulted if I wanted to go on a vacation by myself though and the logistics of it would be hard. Basically he'd have to take vacation to watch the kids so I could go on vacation...LOL, I'm not sure I'd be his favorite person if I insisted on that.
I guess we'll never see ya again, LK! I like your house. Maybe all of us your buddies here can have it as a timeshare and/or organize Relationships orgies in your honor and memory!
The only time I've traveled alone is when I go to job related conferences or business trips.
It is kinda nice the first two nights, but after that I get kinda lonely and can't wait to get back home. Then after a few weeks of the same rigamaroll at home, I'm planning my next business trip

Well if you are gonna have a orgy I guess I can make it back, though I might need recoup time after Brazil.
I've traveled pretty extensively over the years and every single trip was by myself except for just one when I visited my sister when she was teaching in Guadalajara, Mexico and we also went to Mexico City. My other sister also flew down so there were three of us.
Now as far as my vacations have related to relationships it's been my experience that a vacation is a great opportunity to meet someone, especially if you're in situations like traveling by train in a foreign country because you often meet people who happen to be seated in the same area. It's also easy to meet other Americans if you're surrounded by a group of other people who aren't speaking english. I can spot other Americans a block away, it's just something about the way they look or act that I can detect even before I've heard them speak. I remember someone from England said the very same thing about his fellow English travelers. Anyway, it's the only way I would want to travel as long as I'm single.
