OP, I can't offer any advice you haven't already received.

I just wanted to say that if you have a dream of starting your own business, you should definitely finish your accounting degree.

Spank you!...I mean thank you! Yes, I think I may learn more about business and such through that. I want to minor in marketing also because I love the psychology of sales.

I see your SN is dog walker...are you a dog walker? Do you run or own a dog biz?

I do feel your pain. I got an accounting degree and then wondered what the heck I was thinking. LOL I haven't really liked the jobs I've had, but I recently started one that I think I'm going to like. It's a slightly different type of work than I've done before and an area I'm interested in. It's always good to have an education, and you never know where life will lead you!

No, I don't have a dog business. I walk dogs at the humane society.

That must be so nice! I should volunteer to do that, I'm a 10 minute drive from the local human society. So whats different about your new job that you think you will like?

Accounting does seem like a great thing to have knowledge in. I just don't see myself stradled to an office chair working 9-5. I don't mind actually putting time in and hours but I want to be on the go, or outside, or even doing some work from my sofa if I can. I wanna close deals and be surrounded by dogs .

Now I'm just rambling

It's a different type of business. The stress and BS of corporate America was getting to me.

Actually, volunteering at the humane society would be a great idea with the business you want to start. You would get experience working with different types of dogs and you'd learn SO MUCH about dog behavior that you wouldn't get by playing with your own dogs. You would learn a lot that would help you when you start your business. Plus, you'd meet people with the same interests and values and you'd make good contacts who are "in" dogs. The humane society where I used to volunteer actually has a dog daycare. I helped out there a couple times.

Now I'm rambling. Don't get me started talking about dogs. LOL

The guy was a bit of a prick, but you were naive to think that going out to dinner with a random guy wasnt going to be seen as an actual 'date'.

He really did so many things that were very rude, but I don't want to spend an hour typing so I'll just let you know about the key points.

At some point we started talking about cars (I don't know how, since I have 0 interest in them) he said "Your car is worth $8,000 and mine is worth $80,000 which do you think is safer?"

I drive an 08 honda civic which I bought for $18,000 and paid off in less than a year. I think thats alright for a 22 year old student.

He was trying to get me to leave the restaurant to go to his friends shabbat dinner, I told him I planned on staying in the area (for safety reasons, I excluded that tho).

He then asked me why I didn't let him pick me up from my house. I didn't think it was a big deal that I drove myself 5 minutes to the restaurant. He was saying "In my country (Israel) a man always picks a woman up" and I said "Well, I have learned the hard way that its best to wait until you know someone better, before you do that".

He then started saying some ******* ****, and I sent him off "Maybe I'll just pay for my glass of wine, and you can go to your friends dinner"

"Why, you don't want to spend time with me"

"You're just acting weird"

He stormed off, said "Sorry" and that was it.

I think he was either on cocaine or crazy.

Now I'm at home, the first Friday of my spring break, alone, drinking riesling. I don't mind and I never drink, so its actually quite fun!

I also want to add, that I called my mom to tell her about this and she said that "Most people are this way"

Is this true? Are most people *******s?/ I like to think most people are genuinly nice

Thank god..you seen right thru this idiot...No most people arent that way..most are genuinly very nice..
You got your head on your shoulders keep it there..and the right guy will come along

Wow, what an idiot. He pretended he just wanted to be friends but obviously wanted something more even though he is too old and not right for you. I think the car bit was insulting as well.

Wow, I hardly remember this. I had to read through the whole thing first. Yup that guy was a real piece of work and I have to say most people are not like that! I think now I would have been able to sniff him out before accepting the dinner invite.
