Just when I thought things were going well, I have been messing a lot of things up lately and things aren't piecing up well in my social life. I cannot really talk to my friends about this since they approach things in different ways than I do. I have caused a lot of these problems for being naive. So I am looking for at least 2 people who I can pm about my problems preferably one from each gender so I can have both sides. I am looking for people who are very sociably experienced, outgoing, can understand a 22 year old and feel confident in assessing others behaviors. I would post up all my problems but its gonna be too much of a mess so I prefer something more personal. So Im just looking for people to talk to, help would be very appreciated I will PM those who I feel can help me the most.

I'm not going to suggest myself because I'm older then you. But please be careful on who you select. Some of these goofs on here are mean-spirited and might not take your cause seriously. Good luck!

To OP, post on the forum. You'll want more than two opinions.

So true, there is a 60-60 chance of getting advice you don't want.

i agree your better off posting on the forum and perhaps asking a poster that seemed balanced and informative in their response for more advice.

I know what y'all are up to - you just want the OP to post at length so you can dissect them.

OP - a few points come to mind:
  • "Mentor" implies one who has more wisdom than you - the only way I know to gain wisdom is to live life; therefore, don't be too critical of an older applicant to your advertised position. At the same time, it IS important to find someone not so jaded or forgetful about their life experiences that they can't relate.
  • There is a profession that is known as "life coaching" which might be just what you're looking for; remember that free advice is often worth less than you pay for it, so investigate this possibility.
  • You list your location as NYC; you might want to consider keeping your search to those who live or have lived there, since it often presents a unique angle on life issues.

Good hunting!

Good post, Phil! I also don't want him to list all his traits because I fear that some of these losers will try to make him feel worse about himself.

I think a life coach in NYC might be the way to go for you., OP.
