Yesterday I watched the tearful press conference in which Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted finally that he was guilty of everything he'd been accused of and that in fact there are more photos out there which are apparently more explicit. I have to say that I just don't get it. His wife is beautiful, intelligent, and by all accounts everything a man might want in a partner. Because of this incredibly juvenile behavior by her husband she must be suffering unbearable humiliation and painful emotions. He was engaged in this behavior before he married her but secretly kept doing it after they were a married couple. Now every single person in his wife's life knows all of the sordid details including her family members, friends, and people that she works with. If you put yourself in her position how do you think you'd respond? If it were me I don't believe I could continue in this marriage. He has shown a complete lack of respect for her by his actions and I truly don't understand why sneaking around sending dirty pictures of yourself to complete strangers would somehow be fullfilling. I would dump this guy, get divorced, and get on with my life.
Did his wife really not know about any of it this before yesterday? There's no excuse for cheating, but some of these political wives aren't clueless. Take Maria. She knew Arnold's history so I can't imagine she was too shocked to learn that he was cheating. Same with Bill and Hillary.
Oh and as to the original question, if I were her, I'd call up Maria and ask her for her lawyer's number.
First, throw up, die a thousand deaths of humiliation. Then, pack my bags and seclude myself on Martha's Vineyard. Probably refuse to take his calls for a significant period of time.
After that I don't know. Visit him in the rehab facility and consult with his management team.
I don't think I would be inclined to have sex with him for a long time.
That's what congress shouldve done, kick his career to the curb! And of I were his wife, I'd probably take him to the cleaners in a divorce.
