I live with a woman who has four cats. NONE of them are allowed to sleep in the bedroom. This ensures the sheets wont have any fur on them. They wont go in the room and they know better

My Boston Terrier sleeps in the bed with us, she is obviously not there if we are intimate. She normally sleeps at the foot of the bed under a blanket.

On the bed perhaps, IN the bed never.

I love Dogs and Cats but they do not belong in my bed. I actually find the idea of a Dog especially, on my pillow or my sheets really quite disgusting. As clean as a Dog can be ( which let's face it is never THAT clean considering all the butt sniffing and licking of certain areas) he is not getting between the sheets with me !

I would have no problem with them sleeping on the top cover once in a while but I am not sure I would like it to be a permanent habit. The bed is somewhere for me and Hubby and I prefer to keep it that way. I do not have pets at the moment but during my days when I did both Cats and Dog had comfy beds of their own and tended to prefer their own space anyway. Animals need boundaries like children do.

Cross species sleeping is not for me.

did you give this person an ulitmatium (excuse the spelling)? I just got out of something with someone who let her dog sleep with us.....
now, if you and your SO, got the dog/cat, together and allow it, that would be 1 thing.....but otherwise? Seems abnormal for adults to do....
No. When I have been alone, I sometimes let them sleep in the bed, but never when I am with someone. I do sometimes allow one dog to sleep on a mat beside the bed.

Well the dogs have to figure out how to land up here on my bed. When I had my Golden retrievers the male slept beside my bed, I had to be careful getting out of bed. The female golden would sleep beside me or at the foot, unless you tossed and turned then she'd get fed up and move to floor and sleep at the foot of the bed.

When I was doing chemo I didn't like anyone near me. I think I hurt a couple of the critters feelings for a while.

We're not dog people. However, our cat sleeps at our feet on the bed.
