What if she wants to fall asleep first?

I've always watched the morning news on it, and for the past 20 years watched it in the evening a little too. Since my (now) wife moved in 12 years ago, it stays on all night long. She snores, and the noise from the tv helps mask it. We also spend quite a bit of time in the bedroom on our days off, just lying in bed watching a couple movies.

I'm not saying it's the best thing to do, just answering your question.
I'm not saying it's bad or good, I was just curious. Thanks for contribution.

A few times a year I fall asleep on my couch in front of the tv, usually on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Let me tell you, it does affect the way you dream. I see it that clearly, since I don't do it often.
oh please, how does a commercial affect the way a person sleeps? You must be a light sleeper or easily manipulated. Depending on how exhausted i am from work, when i'm gone, i am gone! By being gone, I mean you could probably steal the couch/bed i'm sleeping on and i'd still be gone.

People who have TV in their bedroom have less sex, so, NO, we do not have a TV in the bedroom, and never plan to! So far, it's worked very well to keep the bedroom a sanctuary for sleep and sex.

In my husband's case it's a Triple "S" - sleep, sex and snore.

I picture you outside random bedrooms peeping through windows at night with a clipboard and a calculator.

buhahaha, this is so ridiculous. What evidence do you have to support that statement?

Nope, never have. I don't really like TVs in the bedroom. It's too college dorm/hotel room for me.

If you ever feel you need that background noise again, instead of putting a TV in the bedroom, try a white noise machine. That's what I use, and I love it. Just enough sound so that I don't hear things like the fridge running, the furnace kicking on and off, rainstorms (unless they're really loud), creaks in the floor, etc.
