I keep thinking of the scene in Mel Brooks' "High Anxiety" where the doctor is trying to give a dissertation and there are two little kids in the audience...and he starts to say "penis envy" but he glances at the kids and instead blurts out "pee-pee envy"...
I can never understand. I don't think being a man is really all that great (it can be, depending on how much effort and care you put into your life, and a little bit of luck).
However, it seems that women have so many things set up for them just for being a woman (I don't mean this in a mean way, but look at how many things - official or unofficial - they can get away with that men can never dream of and are restrained by)
So why in the world do women end up having P envy????
Any thoughts, male or female, is appreciated!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm very sorry that the original thread/post got deleted. I'll make sure to keep this one PG-13 (you can PM me if you don't know what P envy means, but be sure to confirm that you are indeed NOT a minor). To protect this one from getting censored, I'll be more careful with the forum guidelines this time
Actually, it's not women who have P envy. It's men who have W(omb) envy...at least according to Karen Horney. Men are envious of women because women can create life, and men can't. Hence men feel the need to subject things to their domination, in an effort to feel the same creative power as women.
So, tell us, why are you secretly envious of women?
I don't have penis envy. I'm more than happy to play around with one occasionally, but I'm glad to give it back to it's rightful owner when I'm done with it.
