Beautiful News. Us men need this money because we helped her with her career and we are used to this standard of living.

Divorce courts mirror society as more women pay alimony - Yahoo! News

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Tables have turned in U.S. divorce courts with more women paying their former husbands alimony and child support than ever before, according to U.S. lawyers. As women climb higher up the career ladder and outpace their exes in salary, when love goes wrong and marriages break up they are being compelled to contribute to the livelihood of their former spouses.

That is nothing new. My brothers ex-wife paid her first husband alimony back in the early 90s.

Awww. Cry me an effin' river.

Hey, they wanted 'equality', right? Now they've got it... oh wait, ONLY when it works in THEIR favor, right?

Now pay up.

I was a deputy (bailiff) in J&DR courts back in the late 70's and got to hear many cases involving child support. Alimony issues were typically dealt with in circuit court but the outcomes were the same. I would say that at least 95-98 % of men lost the case when it came to support and were often ordered to pay large amounts to the ex. In some cases it was most certainly deserved but there were some where the monies the guys were having to pay out left them with next to nothing to survive on. I saw many fathers leaving court looking like they wanted to just end it right there. There was one case where a man (doctor) was ordered to pay the ex and two kids $2500 a month. Now keep in mind this was in the 70's so it was good money. Fast forward a few years now. I became a police officer and went to a call at a home. Don't really recall the type of call. It was this lady and her kids. The house they were living in had little furniture and what she had was cheap. The kitchen was disgusting and the house not clean at all. The kids looked healthy although very reserved and shy. I know the man was paying support as the case came up for review when I still worked in the courts. The father tried to convince the judge she was an unfit mother and he could provide a better life but that rarely worked in those days.

Shoe, I want you to meet the other foot.

But yeah, this has been going on for a while now, it's only recent that it's getting more exposure. I just hope they don't put a spin on it saying how it's "unfair" and men are taking advantage.

Fine by me.

I know I'll never be in the position to pay alimony or child support to my husband so it really doesn't effect me anyway.
