i have a serious question. This is important.

For men and women who lost their virginity later in life - from 21 yrs and above - did you experience any problems in your sex life after you lost it? Was your sex life normal and like everyone elses? Did you suffer from sexual dysfunction? What happened? Did it affect you at all? Tell me your story.

I'm asking this because I saw an internet article saying "Those who lose their virginity at a later age — around 21 to 23 years of age — tend to be more likely to experience sexual dysfunction problems later, say researchers at Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute’s HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies."

^^^ This messed my head up. Say it aint so. The worst part about this article is that it says it affects men worse. ****. If this is true it might already be too late for me. Is there anyone on this forum who lost their virginity after 21/23 and actually turned out normal?

I've known of 2 couples so far where BOTH walked to the altar virgins. And so far I have not seen them with any kind of health problems. Relax man. Sex can sometimes be overrated.

Did you read the study? What were the causes and who made up the sample group? You can't just go by a headline.

Didn't lose mine late....but its not important when you lose it, unless its very early or very late, then there are more likely to be issues IMO.

What age would you say is very late?

I think it varies from person to person depending on a few factors 1) Their priorities in life eg. someone could be very career driven and dating maybe down their list of priorities 2) The maturity level of the person
3) Religious or moral reasons, which is stopping them from having sex

So no set age. But as a general rule I would say 30+ is very late.

I believe that if someone hasn't lost their virginity by age 30, and they aren't just waiting for marriage, then there is definitely a serious problem that could potentionally leave some long-term damage.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one bothered by the improper word form in the thread title.

The reason why this is true is because it gets into your head much more and messes with your mind.
