Assuming no one was asked to be set up, why do married people always go out of their way to set up their single friends? Do they subconsciously want their single friends to be married too?

They assume that if your not married to someone than you are going to be lonely, sad and pathetic for the rest of your life.
They want to trap you in a relationship. Then you will be miserable also.
