You got that wrong. "Cougars" don't love to "baby" young, poor guys. They may find young guys attractive, but "babying" them is not attractive, that is like being their mother and mothers are not sexually attracted to their sons. In fact, that's gross.
I think perhaps the babying part is a fantasy young guys have about older women.
Nah, I was definitely babied by a cougar before. She used to give me money and make me dinner.
Not saying that's what I was looking for, but that's what happened.
I ask this question because I see a lot of guys on the net who like to say that money is a huge aspect of dating/marriage, yet I see tons of guys who are broke as can be not only dating, but often times dating very beautiful and high quality young ladies.
I don't really know how much money matters. It seems like it's only an issue for women who are very successful/come from high income homes or are very materialistic (all of which I believe are a small percentage of women in general). I think a lot of guys cling to the "women love money" thing because it allows them to feel okay about their lack of success

These women must be approached 24/7 by men who are attractive, have their stuff together and have a pleasant personality. Why do they pick out a bum over the men who you would think are more qualified?
Because they're not being approached 24/7 by together guys.
I know very attractive and successful women married to guys who aren't very bright, and work as handymen/construction guys. The guys don't even have a regular income. These marriages have been together a long time, so there's more to the picture than brains and income, clearly.
