Funny story. When I was 20, I went to San Diego with a couple of friends. One was full Mexican, the other was half but looked full Mexican and doesn't even speak Spanish. We got to the Yuma border patrol station and they didn't flinch at my friends, but when they got to me, they did double takes as if they were about to ask me for my American ID.
Oiy! but they wound up not asking for anything lol and let us go on through. The car did have an AZ plate on it after all!
