So I am 41, will be 42 next month. I take very good care of myself. I eat healthy and exercise 6 days a week. I have been known to spend 5 or 6 hours at the gym which is insane. I look young for my age but I am from CA and I find many Californians look younger than their age. But people peg me in my 20s all the time. I think it is more my lifestyle and how I act because I may look young but not that young. I have a ton of photos on my profile page in the Chameleon album.

But younger guys are always hitting on me. I am not complaining because these are hot young guys. The guy last night was 29, very good looking, dressed on the conservative side but had amazing washboard abs under his shirt. He is a 4th year medical student at the best university on the island (I am back in Puerto Rico) and is applying for residencies in plastic surgery in FL and NY.

So he is hot and educated and 12 years younger. Though he looked even younger and who knows maybe he lied about his age because maybe he would think I would not be interested if he was too young.

Not too long ago when I was living in Silicon Valley I met an Italian guy doing his post doctorate in astrophysics. He was 28. We went out a few times but it didn't go anywhere. I met him at Starbucks.

I also recently met a Stanford med student that was also pursuing his doctorate the SAME time as med school. Crazy. This guy was 27. I met this guy at a bar.

These are very hot and highly educated men. I have two separate Bachelors degrees 10 years apart in entirely different fields. So I am educated but not beyond a Bachelors and certainly no where near a doctorate but perhaps one day.

So why are these guys searching out older women. I like the trend but just wondering why it seems to be more and more prevalent.

And FYI I detest the word Cougar. Guys that date younger women don't have a name and I don't call myself a cougar. Plus it was a man that came up with that name.

Any ideas?

They're hitting on you because they think you're their age. They don't know you're older. What happens when you tell them you're 41, how do they react?

If you're meeting them online (how did you know the med student had washboard abs under his shirt?), the buzz online is that older women are more into sex or looking for fresh meat, rather than an LTR. Of course, most middle-aged women in online dating sites hate guys contacting them just for that. I have no idea how that rumor got started. Somebody read the wrong magazine article, or something.

If they're idiots, they yammer on about "experiencing" an older woman, as though she's a ride at Disney.

But if they're after a relationship, it's often because they don't like the drama that can come with younger women. At least, that's what my SO tells me.

Either you look young or they want to get laid, or both.

Ok, so you definitely don't look like you're in your 20s.

OP. I think it's because of your spirit. You seem free spirited, happy. That would be attractive to anyone.
