I imagine it is better because it's a social networking site set up to socialize, rather than for dating, so the women are not on guard nor are they in their super-screening-rejection mode.
It always surprises me when I hear people say they met Random people on Facebook for hookups and such, because I never looked at Facebook that way. Anyone who is my friend on Facebook, is someone I know, not someone I never met, and I have never used it to get dates. It is more a way for me to keep in touch with people back home in Ohio more than anything. It just never honestly never crossed my mind to use it to meet women.
