I was just thinking...if you let the outcome of this one date determine how you feel about women, dating and yourself, you will be 1) overreacting and 2) right back at square one.

Remember it takes two to make a successful connection, and if it doesn't "spark" it is not any one person's fault. So there is no reason to blame yourself or her or take any Big Messages About Life away from the experience.

What happens tonight has NO MEANING. It's just dinner and a movie with someone you like. Have fun. Enjoy the food. Enjoy the movie. Enjoy the company. That is all you have to do!

nope, not always the case. Way more attractive young women are single and can't get a decent guy to approach them than you could imagine. Most guys are like the OP, scared and intimidated and so they avoid them. We put them on a pedestal, and once they are there they have power that "ordinary" women don't, so if the demi-god woman rejects you it carries more meaning.

to the OP,

Man the hell up, let go of all expectations and attachment to outcomes, and go enjoy her company. It's really that simple, if you can do those things you are ahead of 99% of guys out there.

Update on my date: She told me she has a kid from another relationship. I told her I do not want to date women with kids and went home.

That's cold, dude. So did you even have the date? Or did you just walk out on her?
