I did like how she really put on the English accent..... that was good stuff.
It seems like mostly white Europeans seem to ask about ethnicity.
Sometimes you can tell a persons lineage based on their looks, sometimes, but not all.
You really can't do this so much with white people. I'm mean how much different does and Irishman look from say a Scotsman..... not really much.......
But say someone from the Philippines can look a little different that say someone from Cambodia or China..... not always, but again... sometimes you can tell.
I better stop for fear of offending someone... as I don't mean any disrespect.

A lot of times people ask "What are you?" not because they want to offend somebody.
I ask "what are you" a lot. I want to get to know somebody, their heritage, cultural backgrounds, etc, etc. This has a lot to do with traveling when I was younger, etc. It certainly is very fun to learn about people.
My best friend is Chinese/British/German. He is drop dead gorgeous, but he considers himself Chinese. I don't know why. He explained to me that he loved China and he has a Chinese father, so he is obviously Chinese. You learn a lot about somebody by having this kind of conversation.
Political correctness has gone way too far in this country. You cannot call anybody anything anymore.
When my brother was in bootcamp, Drill instructor said, "I don't care you are black, white, Asian, Mexican, purple, green, in here, you are equally useless." Try saying that in civilians world, you will get into huge troubles for that.
But is it really offensive? I don't think so. Marines put a lot of stock in bearing. That is why they all have thicker skin. You can call my brother any kind of names, he will not get upset. He doesn't care. I learned a lot from him.
Nothing really bothers me as long as people don't have the intention to offend anybody. Most people are not racists at all. I don't even think most people are ignorant.
