True, but worrying about Chester the Molester types wasn't really concern when holding a swaddled infant who lived 500+ miles away safely under the watchful eye of parents, with no identifying information about him posted. If some creep from KC wanted to seek out a random newborn in Chicago due to my online dating ad with zero personally identifying information, hey, good luck with that.

I did ask my brother if it was okay with him for me to post pics of me holding his baby online, though. That's only ethical.

Yeah, I swear to God I've only seen 13, 14, and 15 year olds doing the duck thing. I can't imagine a woman in her 20s doing "the duck," and much less older than that.

I am 32, I have an age range set from 25-40.

Duck faces are on those profiles too. Do not think they are on only teenagers profiles because I haven't seen an 18-24 y/o profile in probably a year.

Duck face illness. Why would anyone want to look that ugly?

That pic further up in the thread is gonna give me nightmares, that silly tan and those puckered up lips.... good lord.

I'd venture to say that pic of that girl is the gold standard form of treatment when one over-doses on Viagra.....

I already wasted five years in a relationship with a guy like that (he misrepresented himself, didn't come clean about his distaste for kids until years in).

Posting a pic with children was a conscious decision, as it helped reinforce that although I am not a parent yet, I am not one of the countless anti-children women my age. I'm at the age where if you don't have children, people start to assume it's because you don't want any, not because it simply hasn't happened yet, and that's not an accurate assumption in my case. I would never have knowingly chosen to date a child-free type. Again, effective filtering tool. It worked, as I am now married to a man who is, like me, pro-children. Guess having "poor taste" worked out fine.

The photos you post on dating profiles are as telling as the words you post, in terms of what your interests are, what sorts of things are important to you (pets, family, hobbies), etc. Why waste that with generic duckface iPhone selfies that do a good job of showing how much you spend on cosmetics and not much else?
Whoops, sorry! Didn't realize you were female!

However, I stand by my statement about kids in pictures. Crop them out, blur their faces, or just don't have kids in your pics. When guys do it I think two things: 1) Why are you trying so hard to show that you're a "good, kid friendly guy" and 2) do the parent(s) of that kid know you have their pictures posted on a public website?

I will be the first to admit that I am in no way perfect, but c'mon guys. At least put forth a LITTLE effort. You want a relationship, but if you aren't even going to make SOME attempt at a profile, then it is obvious that you aren't going to put forth any effort in a relationship.

What I saw:
Understandable. I've seen guy profiles pointed out elsewhere on other sites. As much as I can on women on POF for being aspies who live in a back room of their parents house, there are guys who take that cake, eat a bit and run a long ways with it.

This chick who attended the same church I once did had a POF profile up. She listed herself as "Average" body type, of course. At 5'0", let's just say that she wasn't HWP in even a faint sense. I didn't exactly keep up with her, but I believe she unfriended me on FB when she got engaged. I breathed a slight bit easier, no doubt. Only a slight bit, because she never had a chance. She was annoying with her thought process, though.

Well I guess Christian's aren't perfect either but it does send a confusing message. Something tells me though that what I find amusing on a woman's profile and what a man finds amusing are two different things.
Yeah, ladies using OLD have this idea somehow that guys like things that they also like. If you're trying to get a guy to bite, the last thing he wants to read is:

"I would like to meet someone who is into all the fun things that everyone is supposed to say on these things. I like puppies kittens and walks on the beach... I exercise regularly I have 2 dogs, and they are awesome! I am looking for a guy who can help me carry mulch (those bags weigh 50lbs) help me do yard work, and lift heavy things. Someone who likes to go out on dates, and or be happy to just sit at home with the dogs!"

Look, I'm glad this gal exercises, but if I'm relegated to being a day laborer, at least she could be younger than 38 and not be a bar fly who literally graduated from college with a basketweaving degree.

The concept of selling themselves to a guy is just completely lost on them. When you buy a car, do you buy it when the salesperson has told you what you came to hear or after he throws the keys at you and walks away? The next woman's profile I see that says, "I want the house, big yard, 2.1 kids and a white picket fence lifestyle", I would just about marry on the spot. Thankfully, in a sense, most all these women want to be "bros" who demonstrate they can blow money like it's going out of style by planning a vacation every month or two and only compete with guys, so I am confident that I won't have to back my claim up.

Absolutely true and I hated to snip, but for the sake of brevity...

Typical POF "About Me":

"Sssoooo I'm new to this... And if I put a lot about me on here we won't have anything to talk about... Right?!?! So just ask "

Of course, because if I thought she was interesting, I'd have to pull it out of her like a dentist performing a root canal. Of course, one may also include an Instagram address, but I don't do that stuff, so...?

Duck faces? How about grown women with their fake mustaches? Yeah, that'll turn a straight guy on. I'm sporting a beard right now. Not a neckbeard, but the whole shebang. The owner lady at the GNC I audited the other day loved it, so I'll go with it. Anyway, I'll be impressed (probably aghast, though)when I see a woman with one. Enough with your fake mustache, bro!

There are, but if it's not duck faces, I see lots of pics with women who just can't simply smile straight, like this wreck.

Dudes, tell me this: Why do 99% of you (yes I'm making that percentage up) describe yourselves as "easy going" or "laid back" or - god forbid - "laid back and easy going"?????? No. Just no.
I dunno. Everyone uses that, though. Are you telling me that you don't "Work hard and play hard?" Really?

Well, most everyone on an OLD site professes to be unique, yet doesn't exhibit such a nature. That's fine. Not a chance that every single person on Earth is that distinct. Selfies imply that you are a loser, though. How many times can you see a bunch of profiles where someone take pics of themselves in a bathroom of a bedroom and think...."Don't you have ANY instances where you are out in actual sunlight?" You can Google the Myspace angle effect.

You don't get out much, do you? I get that "isht happens", like that bonehead chick from NASA wearing a diaper (allegedly) and going across the country to chase down someone else's hubby, but I can only imagine that most "really creepy people" don't make much of a living and aren't walking across country to be a pedo. Would you? You did think really hard about this unlikely scenario, so....

That's good. I'm sure you were smart about it; I didn't mean to imply you weren't.

Actually it's a scenario that police routinely warn about. And I just got back from walking around my city, but thanks for your concern about my social life.
